I've been with the University for 18 years,
both as a student and an employee. I came to EMU as a nontraditional student
and received a bachelor's degree in anthropology.
My career at EMU began with a part-time job in the foreign language department
while I was working on my degree. I then moved on to full-time positions
in the Provost's Office, and now in Charter Schools.
This campus is a great place to work — good benefits, nice people
and plenty of students who keep you young. I love the
community, too. I moved here to raise my kids, and haven't regretted
it. I even have two new grandchildren now (one pictured
above).
As part of my job, I keep in contact with the nine charter schools. One
of the things I've enjoyed most has been learning about how nonprofits
work and how the educational system is run.
