The majority of Eastern Michigan University freshmen don't have far to travel home, according to survey results of freshmen responding to the Cooperative Institutional Research Program. The percent who travel less than 50 miles has increased from the 58.6 percent in 2001. The miles EMU freshmen drive and the percentage that fall into each category are as follows:
0-50 miles 65.3 percent
51-100 miles 18.6 percent
101-500 miles 16.1 percent
