The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved
the appointments of 29 staff at its regular meeting Jan.
19.
Of the 29 appointments, 13 (45 percent) are female and
16 (55 percent) are males. The group includes 20 Caucasians
(69 percent), six African Americans (21 percent) and one
Hispanic (3 percent).
Those receiving appointments are:

Stroh |
Janice Stroh, of Tucson, Ariz., vice
president for business and finance. Stroh
was vice chancellor for finance and administrative services
at Pima Community College in Tucson, Ariz., from 2003-2006.
She previously was vice president for finance at Eckerd
College in St. Petersburg, Fla.; vice president for business
and finance at Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y.; vice
president for administration and finance at Culver-Stockton
College in Canton, Mo.; and was in numerous positions at
Washington State University. Stroh received her MBA and
her bachelor's degree in business administration from Washington
State University.

Coutilish |
Ted Coutilish, of Grosse
Pointe, associate vice president, University Marketing
and Communications. Before coming to EMU, Coutilish had
been director IV in Wayne State University's Office of
Marketing and Communications since 2005. Prior to that,
he was director II there from 1999-2005. Coutilish received
his master's degree in liberal studies from the University
of Detroit Mercy and his bachelor's degree in print journalism
from Wayne State University.

Abraham |
Sharon Abraham, of Southfield, director
of diversity/affirmative action. Previously, Abraham owned
her own consulting firm, Abraham and Associates, from 2004-2006.
Before that, she was director of public school academies
and urban partnerships at Oakland University from 2002-2004. Abraham
received both her master's degree in business administration
and her bachelor's degree in organizational behavior and
industrial relations from the University of Michigan.
Michael Hague, of Hillsdale, director,
student business services, Hague previously was associate
vice president, financial services, Adrian College, from
1994-2006. Prior to that, he was a staff accountant for
Ernst and Young from 1992-94. He received his bachelor's
degree in business administration from Adrian College.

Ray |
Ryan Ray, of Ypsilanti, head coach,
women's tennis. Before coming to EMU, Ray was head coach
of the men's tennis team at Indiana State University from
2003-2005. Previously, Ray was assistant coach for the
men's and women's tennis teams at Saint Louis University
from 2001-2003. Ray received his master's degree in sports
management from the University of Oklahoma-Norman and his
bachelor's degree in sports administration and business
administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Boyce |
Jason Boyce, of Ypsilanti, assistant
coach, women's crew. Boyce previously was head junior women's
coach of the Syracuse Chargers Rowing Club and was
novice women's row coach in the Fayetteville-Manlius School
District in Syracuse, N.Y., during 2006; and
head junior men's coach/facility manager for the Saratoga
Rowing Association in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., from 2004-2005.
Boyce received his master's degree
in secondary science education from LeMoyne College in
Syracuse, N.Y., and his bachelor's degree in psychology
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Andrews |
Shelly Andrews, of Redford, college
Web master, College of Education-Dean's Office. Prior to
coming to EMU, Andrews was Web producer at Ford Motor Company
from 1997-2006. Before that, she was an adjunct instructor
at Henry Ford Community College from 1999-2006. Andrews
received her bachelor's degree in English from Oakland
University and her associate's degree in graphic design
from Henry Ford Community College.
Melissa Berry, of Ann Arbor, site coordinator,
Center for the Study of Children and Family. Berry
was a community outreach consultant at the University of
Michigan in 2006 and was an after-school coordinator at
Greenhills High School in Ann Arbor from 2005-2006. Prior
to that, Berry was a 21st Century Community Learning Site
coordinator at New Brunswick Public Schools in New Brunswick,
N.J., from 2002-2005. Berry received her bachelor's degree
in English from Rutgers University.
Gregg Costanzo, of Ypsilanti, program
coordinator, arts, entertainment and marketing,
Campus Life. Costanzo previously was director of campus
ministry for Holy Trinity Student Parish from 2003-2006.
Prior to that, he was theology department chair/campus
minister for Elyria Catholic High School from 1998-2003.
Costanzo received both his master's degree in pastoral
studies and his bachelor's degree in humanities from Gannon
University in Erie, Pa.

Dulin III |
Robert Dulin III, of Canton, enterprise
support tech I, ICT-ATCS. Dulin previously worked as human
resources manager at ABC Student Transportation in Detroit
during 2006. Prior to that, he was a technical support
specialist II for Comcast Corporation in Ann Arbor from
2003-2006. Dulin received his MBA from American Intercontinental
University and his bachelor's degree in business administration
from Eastern Michigan University.
Brian Erwin, of Ypsilanti, admissions
adviser, admissions-internal operations. During 2006, Erwin
was a basketball operations assistant, player personnel
and scouting intern for the Detroit Pistons. Prior to that,
he was an intern who worked with game-day operations and
broadcast/multimedia for the Detroit Pistons from 2004-2005.
Erwin received his bachelor's degree in electronic media/telecommunications
from Eastern Michigan University.

Hatfield |
Kelli Hatfield, of Tecumseh, site coordinator,
Center for the Study of Children and Family. Before coming
to EMU, Hatfield was director of education at Sylvan Learning
Center in Adrian from 2004-2006. Prior to Sylvan, she was
lead teacher of sciences at Thomas More High School in
Clinton from 2000-2004. Hatfield received her bachelor's
degree from Eastern Michigan University.
Meilin Kaake, of Howell, construction
accountant, physical plant. Kaake previously was an auditor
at Gwizdala & Associates in Hartland from 2005-2006.
Prior to that, she was a staff accountant at Financial
One, Inc., in Plymouth. Kaake received her bachelor's degree
in accounting from Eastern Michigan University.

Mascharka |
Randy Mascharka, of Canton, photography
specialist, University Marketing and Communications. Previously,
Mascharka was a technical photographer at Ford Motor Company
from 1988-2005. Mascharka received his bachelor's degree
in business administration from Eastern Michigan University.
Walter Powers, of Dearborn, workplace
education specialist, Center for Workforce Education. Powers
had been a workplace education specialist/trainer/technical
trainer at Eastern Michigan University for Ford Motor Company's
UAW workers from 2005-2006. Powers received his bachelor's
degree in communication from Central Michigan University.

Rzeznik |
Leslie Rzeznik, of Belleville, college
Web master, College of Arts and Sciences-Dean's Office.
Prior to coming to EMU, Rzeznik was a database administrator/trainer
for Lincoln Consolidated Schools from 2004-2006, as well
as a part-time faculty member at Washtenaw Community College
during the same period. Rzeznik received her bachelor's
degree in English and psychology from the University of
Michigan.
Kay Sekerak, of Saline, interior designer,
physical plant office. During 2006, Sekerak was
art coordinator for Bartech Group, Inc., in Livonia. Since
May 2006, Sekerak was interior designer, under contract
services, at Eastern Michigan University. Sekerak
has a bachelor's degree in interior design from Eastern
Michigan University.

Towne |
Roberta Towne, of Novi, coordinator,
bachelor of science nursing program, School of Nursing.
Prior to coming to EMU, Towne was coordinator of the nursing
program at Davenport University in Dearborn from 2005-2006.
Previously, she was house director of Oakwood-Annapolis
Hospital from 2003-2006. Towne received her master's degree
and bachelor's degree in nursing, both from Madonna University;
and her associate's degree in nursing from Henry Ford Community
College.
Kevin Trepanier, of Tecumseh, academic
adviser II, CHHS Academic Advising Center. Trepanier
was a counseling services counselor intern at Eastern Michigan
University during 2006. Before that, he was a counselor
intern at the University of Michigan-Dearborn during 2004
and 2006. Trepanier received his master's degree in counseling
from Sienna Heights University; a master's degree in the
art of teaching, biology, from the University of South
Carolina; and his bachelor's degree in exercise science
from Eastern Michigan University.
