I came to Eastern Michigan University because I was so impressed with everyone I met at Eastern. I wanted the opportunity to be a college professor after years of working in the private sector. It gave me the opportunity to apply what I had learned in practice to the classroom. It also gave me the opportunity for a better work/life balance compared to my previous consulting job. Working at Eastern also allows me time to conduct some fascinating research in the area of employee compensation.

I really enjoy my wonderful colleagues in the management department. I also am thrilled to be working with such able and interesting students in the management department. I continue to be somewhat in awe of both my undergraduate and graduate students who balance so much in their lives as they attend school. In so many ways, my students are an inspiration to me.

I have had an incredible number of opportunities while at Eastern. I have had the opportunity to work and teach in China, testify at an arbitration hearing for the Detroit Police Officers Association, help form an alumni chapter for our department, receive internal research grants to facilitate my scholarship, and consume far too much wonderful food at holiday parties.
