As acting director of career services for the past two years, I've been so fortunate to be in a position to see the variety of ways we work with students and alumni paying off. From the graduate who finds a great job in their field to the second semester sophomore who finally feels confident enough to declare a major — it has been an amazing experience.
I work with people who may be struggling to find their way by helping them explore various directions and opportunities to figure out what works for them. It's inspiring to watch their eyes light up when they realize where they want to go in life. That moment when it all comes together is a powerful thing!
The staff here is fun, professional and hard working. They really know how to pull together when the going gets tough. For me, this job has been a wonderful opportunity to operate a large university resource in an environment that is small enough to feel like family.
Career Services offers valuable tools such as career counseling and planning, student employment, access to internship opportunities, assistance with resume writing and preparing for interviews...the list goes on and on. No two days working here are the same. That variety, and the opportunities available to our students and alumni, make this an exciting and rewarding place to work.
