The Convocation Center's winter calendar is full of activities
to help you shake off the winter blues. Cheer on EMU sports
teams, enjoy athletic and robotic competitions, treat yourself
to a night of spiritual music, or connect with teaching

Michigan Univesity's
men's and women's
basketball teams have
several home
games left
through February
in the Convocation Center.

From January through March, EMU's men's and women's
basketball teams will be putting their skills
to the test against other college teams in the Mid-American
Conference. Eastern Michigan's wrestling team will
take the mat against Ohio University Feb. 21. Tickets
for these sporting events range from $3-$9. For more

Watch high school pompon and dance teams compete in Mid-American
Pompon's 2010 State Pom Championship Feb. 13.
Teams in the state championship have already come out
on top in one of two regional competitions. Doors open
at 8:30 a.m., with competition from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for students and senior
citizens. Children under five get in free. For more information,

Develop your retailing and community-building skills at
a business seminar produced by the TEAM organization
March 13. TEAM's seminars are designed to teach, motivate
and recognize individual achievements. Doors open at 2
p.m. and the seminar will be conducted in three sessions:
2:30-4 p.m., 5-7 p.m., and 8-10 p.m. For more information

The Christian band Third Day will be headlining Winter
Jam 2010, Christian music's largest annual
tour, March 26. Third Day will be joined by Newsboys,
NewSong, Tenth Avenue North, Fireflight, MIKESCHAIR,
Robert Pierre, Revive and guest speaker Tony Nolan. Admission
is $10 at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show

Marvel at the engineering ability of high school students
from all over Michigan as they compete in the FIRST
Robotics Competition State Championship April
1-3. Students in grades 9-12 will build and compete
with a robot of their own design. Matches run from
3-7 p.m. April 1; 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. April 2; and
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 3, followed by an awards
ceremony. Admission is free.
Eastern Mcihigan education students can get a jumpstart
on their career search at the Teacher Job Fair,
scheduled April 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Seniors, alumni
and graduates are invited to attend and visit with representatives
from more than 100 schools. The registration fee is $10
for those who register online by April 5, or $20 at the
