Eastern Michigan University's College of Business is hosting
its celebration examining ethics in business and education
during its Third Annual Ethos Week March 9-13. Business
leaders and keynote speakers will present their views on
the country's ethical business climate and issues during
the five-day conference.
The keynote speaker is Frank C. Bucaro, a leading authority
on helping organizations create values-based, high-performance
cultures. Bucaro, a professional business motivational
speaker, focuses on ethics and values within business organizations.

Other speakers and their presentations include Wayne Brockbank,
The RBL Group, "Ethics and Human Resources;" Richard Sheridan,
Menlo Innovations, "Ethics in Marketing;" Joseph Reid,
Capitol Bancorp Limited, "Ethics and Banking and Finance;" Joe
Bione, Whitehall Group, L.L.C., "Ethics in Supply Chain
Management;" Richard Baird, PricewaterhouseCoopers, "Ethics
in Accounting," and Mark Wellman, president, Camtronics, "Ethics
in Entrepreneurship."
Sponsoring Ethos Week are Michigan Business Review and
WJR Radio. WJR's Paul W. Smith will broadcast his show
live from EMU's College of Business the morning of March
9. The week raises awareness of ethical considerations
in a variety of business and personal contexts. The college's
Ethos Statement, the first of its kind in the nation, emphasizes
six core values: integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, respect,
learning and the work ethic. Eastern Michigan is the first
and only university in the nation to host an Ethos Honor
Society.
"EMU's emphasis on ethics in business and education sets
us apart from business schools across the nation," said
David Mielke, dean of EMU's College of Business. "Ethos
Week is a fundamental component of our program, raising
student awareness of ethical considerations in a variety
of business and personal contexts."
All events are free of charge except for the luncheon.
