ROLLING ROBOTS: High school students from around the state competed in the Great Lakes FIRST Regional Robotics competition, which took place at the Convocation Center March 27-29. Here, Team Rush, from Clarkston, prepares to launch a giant ball from their robot during semifinal action March 29. Sixty-three high school teams, each composed of 25 to 50 members, competed. FIRST Robotics is designed to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, inspire innovation, and engages students in mentor-based programs that build engineering, science and technology skills.
