While many Eastern Michigan University students
enjoyed a breather from their studies during winter break,
a number of EMU students traveled to various destinations
to make a difference in various communities around the
country as part of Alternative Spring Break (ASB). Students
(below) help restore a trail at St. Mark's National Wildlife
Refuge in northwest Florida. The ASB program is part of
EMU's VISION (Volunteers Incorporating Service into Our
Neighborhoods) program. EMU students have been participating
in ASB since 1991. Some key numbers for this year's ASB
are as follows.
