PRESIDENTIAL PLEDGE: (above, from left) Eastern Michigan University President Susan Martin has an on-air conversation with Art Timko, interim vice president for communications and public affairs, and Bob Eccles, WEMU's local host for "All Things Considered." The discussion took place March 30 during WEMU's annual spring pledge drive. The drive, much of it broadcast from the historic Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor, completed its run April 4. Approximately $134,539 was raised, which was just $461 shy of the $135,000 goal, said Molly Motherwell, acting director/general manager of WEMU.
