The collective bargaining agreement between Eastern Michigan University and the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers, Technical, Office and Professional (UAW) Local 1975 was approved by the Board of Regents at its regular meeting April 1.
UAW Local 1975 represents 270 clerical and secretarial employees at EMU.
The five-year contract is retroactive from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2012. The union ratified the contract March 12.
The new contract includes a compensation-wage adjustment package of 3 percent across-the-board increases for each year; a step increase starting in 2011 for all eligible employees on their anniversary; and employee healthcare cost sharing starting in July 2009.
