During June and July, Michigan's 15 public universities set their tuition
rates for the 2006-07 academic year. For the most part, tuition increases
were lower than last year due, in part, to the state of Michigan providing
universities increases in state appropriations for the first time in five
years. Eastern Michigan University received an increase of 2.7 percent
in state appropriations. While a number of universities had variations
on what and how the tuition increases would be used, the following are
the actual tuition percentage increases (for full-time undergraduate students)
approved by the boards of various universities.
