Eastern Michigan University's distance learning master
of engineering management program has been rated and ranked
a "Best Buy" by the editorial review team of the Web site,
GetEducated.com.
"Since the program began in 2000, the master of science
in engineering management program has been one of the fastest
and most consistently growing programs at EMU," said Tracy
Tillman, professor of engineering technology. "It is popular
because of its value and effectiveness for students, and
because our graduates provide value and are effective for
the companies they work for. Quite simply, we practice
what we preach. Value engineering is a topic that is covered
in many different ways in many of our classes. It is the
approach we used when we initially designed the engineering
management program and it is the approach that we continue
to use for continuous improvement in our program and courses."

engineering management and its related disciplines, which
is research that also is used to create various professional
certification examinations related to engineering management," said
Tillman. "Being a professional certification-based program,
our students gain extra value from our program by gaining
the skills and knowledge they need to be prepared to pass
one or more professional certification exams that are offered
by engineering-related professional societies, in areas
such as engineering management, project management, lean
systems and manufacturing engineering."
