The Eastern Michigan University Foundation Board of Trustees
has elected new officers for 2007-08. All serve as volunteers. They are:

Daniel Arbour, chair, EMU class of 1977, president and

Maureen Thomas, vice chair, EMU class of 1981, legal,
risk management and operating consultant, Building Materials
Holding Corp.
Kenneth Bruchanski, treasurer, EMU class
of 1975, chief financial officer, CIT Systems Leasing.
Newly elected trustee Brenda Dempsey joined the board
at its May meeting. Dempsey graduated from EMU in 1988
with a degree in communications and participated in forensics
as an undergraduate. She also received her master's in
communication from Miami University of Ohio in 1989.

Currently, Dempsey works as public relations director
for the J.M. Smucker Co., based in Orrville, Ohio, and
is a resident of Fairlawn, Ohio. Dempsey was inducted into
the EMU Forensics Hall of Fame and remains active with
the team. She also serves on the board of directors
and executive board of the Home Baking Association, an
industry association dedicated to the preservation and
encouragement of home baking.
Marilyn Opdyke, EMU class of 1981, president,
the Opdyke Group; and Larry Warren, EMU class of 1970 and
1973, CEO-retired, University of Michigan Hospitals and
Health Centers, were granted emeritus status.
The EMU Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation
that increases private support and manages endowment assets
for the benefit of Eastern Michigan University.
