Eastern Michigan University's police officers will receive
a 2.25 percent salary increase for 2006-07, followed by
a 3 percent increase in each of the next two years as part
of a collective bargaining agreement with EMU. The Board
of Regents approved the agreement at its Sept. 19 meeting.
In addition, police officers will receive an increase,
from $650 to $700, in uniform allowance; and from $835
to $885 for a plain-clothes allowance. Officers also will
be able to bid on and receive an alternate shift assignment
once during the life of the three-year contract.
The proposed agreement is projected to increase the University's
Department of Public Safety Police Officers' compensation
costs by $27,074 for fiscal year 2006-2007.
