Noises Off promotion

NOISES OFF: EMU Theatre's 2006-07
season opens with "Noises Off" Friday,
Oct. 13, 8 p.m., in Quirk Theatre.

  • Noises Off: EMU Theatre's 2006-07 season opens with Michael Frayn's comedy, "Noises Off" Friday, Oct. 13, 8 p.m., Quirk Theatre. Guest director John Seibert directs "Noises Off," a play-within-a-play that moves brilliantly at a breakneck pace. A very British troupe of not very good actors attempts to rehearse and perform a haphazard production of "Nothing On." Their director, the ultra-critical Lloyd, attempts to control the mayhem as doors slam, pants drop and sardines fill the stage. Chaos reigns as Lloyd finds himself deep in the tangle of shocking affairs, failed rehearsals and an explosive performance that audiences are not likely to soon forget. "Noises Off" runs Oct. 13 and Oct. 19-21, 8 p.m.; Oct. 14, 5 and 9 p.m.; and Oct. 15, 2 p.m., Quirk Theatre. Tickets are $6 for bargain Thursday performances; and $15 for weekend performances. For tickets, call 487-1221, or visit www.emich.edu/public/cta/ted
