SPEAKING: Gheorghe Ciuhandu, mayor of Timisoara,
Romania, spoke with faculty members and
students about Romania's transition from
a Communist economy to becoming a partner
in the European Union and a NATO partner
with the United States. Ciuhandu gave two
presentations, "Conversations on Europe
and Local Government," in
Roosevelt Auditorium, and "Romania’s
Road to the European Union," (above) in Pray-Harrold
Oct. 15. The event was sponsored by EMU's
Political Science Department.
