The Regents authorized EMU President Susan Martin to take
action to terminate the current management agreement between
EMU and the Eagle Crest Management Corporation, and to
enter into a new agreement with the new nonprofit corporation,
Eagle Administrative Services.
Earlier this year, the Board of Regents authorized an
ad-hoc committee comprised of Vice Chair Roy Wilbanks,
Regent Jim Stapleton and Regent Floyd Clack to examine
Eagle Crest's operational structure. Subsequent to the
completion of its review, the committee reported its findings
back to the full board.
"The Board of Regents believes that the creation of better
oversight, a clearer delineation of responsibilities and
authority, and the commitment to devote additional resources
to Eagle Crest will significantly improve its operations," said
Wilbanks. "We feel this new structure will accomplish that."
