HENDRIX HELPS HONOR MICHIGAN HERO: Freman Hendrix, Eastern Michigan University's governmental relations officer (above, second from far right), was on hand at halftime of the Detroit Pistons-Milwaukee Bucks game Nov. 1. Hendrix was at the game in his capacity as board chair of the American Red Cross-Southeastern Michigan Chapter. The Detroit Pistons and the American Red Cross-Southeastern Michigan Chapter honored Al Harris (middle, front), 7, a second grader at Cornerstone Schools Metropolitan Campus with a Michigan Heroes Award. Harris was diagnosed with a mystery chronic illness at four months old, and suffers from excess water retention due to extreme protein loss.
