The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved
the appointments of 41 staff at its regular meeting Nov.
14.
Of the 41 appointments, 22 (54 percent) are female and
19 (46 percent) are males. The group includes 30 Caucasians
(73 percent), nine African Americans (22 percent) and two
Hispanics (5 percent).
Those receiving appointments are:

Hendrix |
Freman Hendrix, of Detroit, chief governmental
relations officer, governmental relations administration.
Previously, Hendrix was chief operations officer for Strategic
Staffing Solutions from 2001-2004. Before that, Hendrix
was deputy mayor of the city of Detroit from 1998-2001
and chairman of the Detroit Public Schools Board of Education
from 1998-2000. Hendrix received his bachelor's degree
in business administration from Eastern Michigan University.
Bradley Cieleski, of Ypsilanti, assistant
coach, wrestling, intercollegiate athletics. Before coming
to EMU, Cieleski was an assistant wrestling coach at Brown
University from 2005-2006. Cieleski was a four-time NCAA
national wrestling champion qualifier while competing at
Slippery Rock University for his first three years and
at the University of Missouri as a graduate student during
his fourth season. He recorded more than 100 wins during
his intercollegiate wrestling career and was named
to the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Academic
team in 2004-05. Cieleski received his bachelor's degree
in sociology/criminology from Slippery Rock University.
Tianna Kirkland, of Indianapolis, Ind., assistant coach,
women's basketball, intercollegiate athletics. Prior to
coming to EMU, Kirkland was an assistant women's basketball
coach at Butler University from 2004-2006. Before that,
she was a graduate assistant coach at Central Michigan
University from 2002-2004. Kirkland received her bachelor's
degree in applied biology from Ferris State University.

Young |
Del Young, of Ypsilanti, assistant baseball coach, intercollegiate
athletics. Young previously was second assistant coach
at Eastern Michigan University. Young received his master's
degree in sports management from Eastern Michigan University
and his bachelor's degree in business administration from
Northwood University.
Kelli Stein, of Columbus, Ohio, men's
and women's assistant swimming and diving coach, intercollegiate
athletics. Stein was an All-American swimmer at the University
of Michigan in 2004. Stein previously was an assistant
swimming coach with the Scioto (Ohio) Country Club during
summer 2005. She also had been the office manager at Clintonville
(Ohio) Servicecenter since June 2005. Stein received her
bachelor's degree in sports management and communication
from the University of Michigan.

Parks |
Susan Parks, of Muncie, Ind. head coach,
women's track, intercollegiate athletics. Before coming
to EMU, Parks was head women's cross country and track
coach at Ball State University from 1994-2006. During her
tenure, her Cardinal teams won eight Mid-American Conference
championships and were runners-up 10 times. Parks was named
MAC Coach of the Year five times. She was selected as an
NCAA Regional Coach of the Year in indoor and outdoor track
in 1998. Her 2002 cross-country team became just the third
MAC team to ever qualify for the NCAA Championships. Parks
received her master's degree in physical education and
her bachelor's degree in English language and literature,
both from Eastern Michigan University.
Tamara Ards, of Baton Rouge, La., assistant
coach, women's track. Prior to coming to EMU, Ards was
track coordinator for the men's and women's track teams
at Louisiana State University from 2005-2006. Before that,
she was assistant track coach for both the men's and women's
track teams at the University of Colorado from 2002-2005.
Ards received her bachelor's degree in journalism from
the University of Colorado.
Loretta Newman, of Ypsilanti, administrative secretary,
director, Academic Human Resources. Previously, Newman
was a Student Judicial Services specialist at EMU during
2006. Before that, she was a secretary in the EMU
Board of Regents office from 2005-2006.

Schultz |
Scott Schultz, of Saline, coordinator,
athletics programs and marketing, intercollegiate athletics.
Previously, Schultz spent 2004-05 as a marketing intern
in EMU's Athletics Department and was responsible for group
ticket sales. Schultz received his bachelor's degree in
management from Michigan State University.
Antonio Enoex II, of Detroit, administrative
associate I, Institute for the Study of Children, Families
and Communities. Before coming to EMU, Enoex was a program
coordinator II at Wayne State University's College of Education
from 2003-2006 and a research assistant/instructional design
lead at the University of Michigan during 2003. Enoex
received his master's of education degree in instructional
technology from Wayne State University and his bachelor's
degree in industrial distribution from Eastern Michigan
University.
Brian Nemorovski, of Ann Arbor, coordinator, E-Recruiting,
admissions-campus outreach. Previously, Nemorovski was
a recruiter in EMU's Admissions Office in 2005-2006 and
an instructor at The Princeton Review in Ann Arbor from
2003-2005. Nemorovski received his bachelor's degree in
journalism and economics from Northwestern University.
Roberta Towne, of Wyandotte, coordinator,
bachelor of science nursing program, School of Nursing.
Prior to coming to EMU, Towne was coordinator of the nursing
program at Davenport University in Dearborn from 2005-2006.
Previously, she was house director of Oakwood-Annapolis
Hospital from 2003-2006. Towne received her master's degree
and bachelor's degree in nursing, both from Madonna University;
and her associate's degree in nursing from Henry Ford Community
College.
Edward Kmett, of Westland, database analyst programmer,
English language and literature. Kmett previously
was an adjunct lecturer in EMU's Computer Science Department
during 2006. Before that, he was chief information officer
for BigNet, Inc., a nationwide DSL service provider. Kmett
received his master's degree in mathematics and his bachelor's
degree in mathematics and computer science, all from Eastern
Michigan University.
Richard Nemith, of Pinckney, data
analyst, accreditation and continuing education programs,
College of Education-office of academic services. Nemith
has more than 15 years' experience in information systems/information
technology settings in business and education, most recently
as a part-time information systems technician in Dexter
Schools. He received his master's degree in information
systems and his bachelor's degree in business computer
systems, both from Eastern Michigan University.
