EMU Foundation makes history with endowment funding, gifts to scholarships

EMU Foundation's 2005 Annual Report

The EMU Foundation is reporting a 28-percent increase in funding from endowed scholarships and endowments for fiscal year 2004-05. It's the first time such funding has exceeded $1 million in EMU's history.

More than $1.226 million was provided to the University from the endowment, an increase of approximately $270,000 from the previous year.

"We are proud to report this positive news to our donors and the EMU community. This is a reflection of the generosity of our alumni and friends, and we hope they realize their gifts are extremely valuable, especially in these tough economic times," said Laura Wilbanks, executive director of Foundation operations and chief financial officer.
