MODEL STUDENTS:
Eastern Michigan University's 17-member
Model UN team, accompanied by Richard Stahler-Sholk,
professor of political science, recently
competed in the American Model United Nations
Conference in Chicago Nov. 17-20. Model
UN is a simulation of international diplomacy,
in which students represent the foreign
policy positions of countries and work
to pass resolutions addressing contemporary
global issues. EMU represented Croatia
and Libya at the conference. Eastern's
team won awards for "Best Overall
Delegation"
and "Best Delegation" awards
in the General Assembly Plenary and the
Commission on Population & Development.
