Stroh named EMU's vice president for business and finance

Eastern Michigan University has named Janice Stroh as its vice president for business and finance, pending approval of the Board of Regents.

Stroh, 55, has more than 30 years' experience in higher education administration, most recently as vice chancellor for finance and administrative services at Pima Community College in Tucson, Ariz., since 2003.

"Janice Stroh's pattern of extensive experience in higher education financial management will be key to Eastern Michigan University's growth and development in the years ahead. She represents more than 30 years of progressively responsible assignments in both public and private colleges and universities," said Dr. John Fallon, president of Eastern Michigan University. "The university is poised to embrace more entrepreneurial approaches to its work and strong financial leadership is an important prerequisite for success.  My colleagues and I are eager to have Janice join the leadership team at the University."

Stroh's appointment is effective Jan. 8, 2007. She also will serve as the treasurer for the Board of Regents.
