The EMU Foundation received total contributions that exceeded $4.2 million
in 2006-2007. Of that amount, $3,884,603 were cash gifts with another $357,844
of gifts-in-kind. More than $2.6 million, or 63.4 percent of all fundraising,
was earmarked for EMU's colleges and departments. The biology department
benefited from a science initiative through The Kresge Foundation, and
received new lab equipment, including a fluorescence activated cell sorter
(below right). The top five cash gifts are as follows:
