The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved
the appointments of 24 staff at its regular meeting Nov.
27.
Of the 24 appointments, 12 (50 percent) are female and
12 (50 percent) are males. The group demographics include
18 Caucasians (71 percent), four African Americans (17
percent), one Hispanic (6 percent) and one Asian (6 percent).
Those receiving appointments are:

Guarino |
John Guarino, of Orlando, Fla., assistant
coach, women's track, intercollegiate athletics. Before
coming to EMU, Guarino was an assistant women's track coach
at the University of Central Florida from 2004-2007 and
a graduate assistant who assisted the women's track team
at Florida State University from 2003-2004. Guarino received
his master's degree in sports administration from Florida
State University and his bachelor's degree in mechanical
engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Clarissa Russell, of Cleveland, Ohio, manager of regional
admissions, admissions office-campus outreach. Prior to
coming to EMU, Russell was assistant to the CEO and grassroots
advocacy coordinator for government affairs at Henry Ford
Health System from 2005-2007, and hospital and health network
administrative fellow at Henry Ford from 2004-2005. Russell
received her master's degree in health policy and management
from Florida A&M University and her bachelor's degree
in communication from Eastern Michigan University.

Castro |
Meg Castro, of Wayne, Mich., assistant director, event
planning/conferences, Student Center operations. Before
coming to EMU, Castro was special event and conference
coordinator for the Ava Maria School of Law from 2001-2007.
Before that, she was scheduling manager, special events
and student activities, for The Michigan League at the
University of Michigan from 1997-2001.
Andrea Jaeckel, of Galloway, N.J., associate vice president
for finance, controller's office. Before coming to EMU,
Jaeckel was associate vice president for administration
and finance for The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
from 2006-2007. Jaeckel has been in a number of other positions
at the college since 2000, including assistant vice president
for business and finance, controller, director of fiscal
compliance and accounting services, and internal auditor.
Jaeckel received her bachelor's degree in business, accounting
and marketing from The Richard Stockton College of New
Jersey.

Blaine |
Meredith Blaine, of Sylvania, Ohio, assistant director,
Student Judicial Services. Before coming to EMU, Blaine
was a student aid officer in the office of student aid
and scholarships at Louisiana State University from 2005-2006.
Previously, she was a graduate assistant in the office
of student judicial affairs at the University of Toledo
from 2002-2004. Blaine received her master's degree in
education and her bachelor's degree in psychology, both
from the University of Toledo.
Amanda Reynolds, of Belleville, senior secretary, employment
and HRIS. Reynolds previously was a temporary human resources
clerk at Eastern Michigan University during 2007. Prior
to that, Reynolds was a student assistant in human resources
at EMU from 2006-2007. Reynolds received her master's
degree in social sciences and her bachelor's degree in
sociology, both from Eastern Michigan University.

Camo |
Jasmina Camo, of Hamtramck, program coordinator, DCE (VISION),
diversity programs. Camo most recently was with AmeriCorps
VISTA, where she served as a staffer for EMU's VISION office
from 2006-2007 and was a mentor tutor for America Reads
Tutoring Corps in Ann Arbor from 2003-2006. Camo received
her bachelor's degree in English and Spanish from the University
of Michigan.
Charnessa Paige, of Ypsilanti, program coordinator, Dining
Commons ONE, Multicultural Affairs, Multicultural Center.
Before coming to EMU, Paige was assistant director for
education and training at the Sexual Assault Prevention
and Awareness Center in Ann Arbor from 2004-2007. Previously,
Paige was a research graduate assistant for EMU's Office
of Diversity/Affirmative Action from 2002-2004. Paige received
her master's degree in liberal studies and women's studies
from Eastern Michigan University and her bachelor's degree
in political science from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Katoll |
Suzanne Katoll, of Ypsilanti, site coordinator,
Center for the Study of Children and Families. Before coming
to EMU, Katoll was director of education for the Sylvan
Learning Center from 2002-2007. Previously, Katoll was
an English teacher at Light and Life Christian School from
1999-2002. Katoll received her bachelor's degree in science
from Eastern Michigan University.
Andrew Staley, of Saline, platform specialist I, ICT Enterprise
Applications and Servers. Before coming to EMU, Staley
was a senior Web application engineer/senior 4GL (oracle)
developer, assistant Appleworx administrator at Minacs
Worldwide. Staley received his bachelor's degree in network
and information technology administration from EMU.
Justin Sherenco, of Waterford, information security analyst
II, ICT-administrative executive. Before coming to EMU,
Sherenco was a security analyst with IBM Internet Security
Systems in Southfield from 2005-2007. Prior to that, he
was an IT systems consultant for Internet Operations Center,
Inc., in Southfield, from 2002-2007. Sherenco received
his bachelor's degree in network and information technology
administration from EMU.
Cole DiCenzo, of Wyandotte, campus police officer, public
safety/parking.
Linda Cannady, of Belleville, senior secretary, Student
Center.
Kanisha Clemons, of Belleville, customer service representative
II, office of the registrar.
