"The appointment of Ted Coutilish coincides with full
recognition of the power of marketing for Eastern Michigan
University and its importance in achieving the University's
vision. We are eager for him to arrive and initiate the
process of positioning the institution in the hearts and
minds of the people of the region and state. From
my vantage point, this can't happen soon enough," said
EMU President John Fallon.
"I look forward to the opportunity to help shape the EMU
brand and lead the University's marketing efforts. This
is a great institution with excellent facilities, real-world
programs, outstanding faculty and exceptional leadership," said
Coutilish.
Coutilish's appointment is effective Dec. 12.

communications; plan major university events; build university
brand and image; and double WSU's licensing revenues.
Before that, Coutilish was director of publications at
Oakland University from 1995-1999 and was the publications
manager at the University of Detroit Mercy from 1991-1995.

of Detroit Mercy in 1995 and his bachelor's degree in journalism
