Master of Sicence in GIS
The Master of Science in GIS caters to graduate students from any discipline who want to develop theoretical
knowledge and practical skills in geospatial science and technology. Courses cover GIS Theory, Remote Sensing,
Geodatabases and Spatial Analysis, GIS programming, GPS Technology, and Cartography.
Graduate Certificate for GIS Professionals
This certificate program has a five-course curriculum and is available to graduate students who wish to further
their knowledge of GIS without necessarily completing the Masters degree. It is designed for GIS specialists,
technicians, planners, information technology professionals and others interested in using geographic information
technology in jobs or for careers. Courses completed in the certificate program count towards the Masters in GIS.
Graduate Certificate in GIS for Educators
The certificate was created for K‐12 teachers specifically with a focus on what teachers need to know in GIS to
include this exciting application into their classroom activity. The certificate program has a five-course curriculum
and courses taken may count towards the Masters in GIS.
