How do I nominate someone?

To nominate a person or group for a Gold Medallion:

Staff Award Nominees

  • Complete the nomination form.
  • A minimum of three letters of nomination can be submitted to www.emich.edu/goldmedallion .
  • Please include a description of contributions made by the nominee related to the category for which they are being nominated along with specific examples of their achievements.
  • Be sure to submit the form by March 6, 2009.
  • Committee will obtain approval of nominee's supervisor.

To nominate a person for a Faculty Appreciation Award:

  • Complete the nomination form. You must include a brief description of the person's contributions to the Division. Letters of support are not required.
  • Be sure to submit the nomination form and letters of support by March 6, 2009


Can a person or organization be nominated in more than one category?
It is possible to nominate an individual for more than one category. Separate nomination forms are required for each category a person is nominated in.

Who can submit a nomination?
Each person who works in the Division is encouraged to nominate persons or groups he/she thinks are deserving. Winners are selected solely upon nomination letters. Please be sure to include a very detailed description of contributions made by the nominee related to the category for which they are being nominated along with specific examples of their achievements. Students or student groups may also submit nominations for these awards.

Who selects the winners?
All Gold Medallion winners are selected by a committee composed of previous Gold Medallion winners with previous Enrollment Management divisional award winners and one representative external to our Division. The decisions of the committee are final.

When will the winners be announced?
Staff awards will be presented at the Founders Day Salute to Excellence Breakfast:
