The
University Archives houses a special non-circulating, non-browsing
collection of materials, created by Eastern Michigan University administrators,
faculty, staff, students, and alumni, which have long-term historical value.
The collection-official and non-official-consists of catalogs, minutes,
reports, programs, correspondence, photographs, blueprints, special
publications, and biographies.

Monday
- Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
While
appointments are not required during this time, visitors are asked to contact
the Archives prior to their visit. Some collections have access restrictions
and/or are stored in another location.
Under
special circumstances, appointments will be necessary.
All
university holidays are observed.
Research
The
Archives is open to all individuals who have a serious interest in, and
specific use for, its holdings.
Research
must be conducted within the Archives Reading Room. Material is not loaned
under any circumstances.

Information about books in Special Collections, which are located in the
archives, appears in the Library's on-line catalog.
Research
requests received by phone, through the mail, email or by FAX will be handled
as time and availability of staff allow.
Class
or Group Use of the Collections
Because
space in the Archives is limited, classes or other groups that wish to use the
collections must contact the Archivist at least two weeks in advance to arrange
the details of such use.
