Compendex
Compendex is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of scientific and technical engineering research available, covering all engineering disciplines. It includes millions of bibliographic citations and abstracts from thousands of engineering journals and conference proceedings. When combined with the Engineering Index Backfile (1884-1969), Compendex covers well over 120 years of core engineering literature.

Inspec
Inspec includes bibliographic citations and indexed abstracts from publications in the fields of physics, electrical and electronic engineering, communications, computer science, control engineering, information technology, manufacturing and mechanical engineering, operations research, material science, oceanography, engineering mathematics, nuclear engineering, environmental science, geophysics, nanotechnology, biomedical technology and biophysics.


Global Road Warrior

Naxos Music Library

"Naxos is the world's leading classical music label, with a catalogue of over 5000 cd's (80,000 individual tracks) with genres including jazz and world music in addition to the classical core. In addition to access to the entire catalogue (with licensed labels being added monthly) and supporting reference materials, we provide a suite of tools designed to provide librarians and professors with the ability to make the most of their subscription. Static URL's to individual tracks allow linking from online learning resources. Playlists allow professors to create listening homework lists. Set timeouts ensure that no one abuses the service. And live usage stats allow libraries to track usage."


Nursing Reference Center

"Nursing Reference Center (NRC) provides a user-friendly point-of-care resource intended for staff nurses, nurse administrators, nursing students, nurse faculty, and hospital librarians. It delivers the best available and most recent clinical evidence and knowledge on conditions and diseases via a nursing-specific graphical interface.

NRC is accessible from a patient’s bedside, nursing station, kiosk, office, or home. Clinical care data included in NRC consists of:

Poetry Databases

Four databases are on trial:

  • African American Poetry, 1760-1900
    African American Poetry contains nearly 3,000 poems by African American poets of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It provides a comprehensive survey of the early history of African American poetry, from the earliest published African American poems to the works of Paul Laurence Dunbar, the first African American poet to achieve national success and recognition.
  • English Poetry, Second Edition
    English Poetry, Second Edition contains over 183,000 poems, essentially comprising the complete canon of English poetry of the British Isles and the British Empire from the 8th century to the early 20th. Drawn from nearly 4,900 printed sources, more than 2,700 poets are represented.
  • Twentieth-Century African-American Poetry
    Twentieth-Century African American Poetry is an unparalleled collection of poetry written by the most important and influential African American poets of the twentieth century. Coverage begins with the key writers of the early decades (James Weldon Johnson, Georgia Douglas Camp Johnson, Claude McKay), continues with major figures of the Harlem Renaissance (Langston Hughes, Jean Toomer, Arna Bontemps and Sterling Brown) and the Black Arts movement of the 1960s (Imamu Amiri Baraka, Etheridge Knight, Audre Lorde, Sonia Sanchez), and concludes with a considerable body of writing of the 1980s and 1990s, including major figures such as Ai, Rita Dove and Yusef Komunyakaa alongside young writers who have gained recognition through national poetry awards or inclusion within leading print anthologies.
  • Twentieth-Century American Poetry

Law Content

Analytical Sources

  • American Jurisprudence 2d (Am Jur 2d). An encyclopedia that provides summary and analysis of all fields of American state and federal law. It contains many citations to cases, statutes, and law review articles. It also includes analysis of the spirit and intent of the courts in construing the law, and Legislative intent in enacting and amending the law.
  • American Law Reports (ALR). ALR provides a continually updated series of articles (annotations) on legal topics discussed in key cases. The articles provide objective analysis of different sides of an issue, written in a narrative style.
  • More than 700 law reviews and journals. Law reviews are scholarly journals published by most accredited law schools. They contain thorough discussions of current issues and trends in the law, with comprehensive analysis by scholars and legal professionals. They are also an excellent source of citations to cases. Harvard Law Review, Yale Law Journal, American Journal of Legal History, Stanford Law Review, and International and Comparative Law Quarterly are just a few of the hundreds of highly respected publications available.

Primary Law Sources

  • United States Code Annotated (USCA). USCA combines the official text of the United States Code with relevant cases, historical notes, indexes, cross-references and other annotations.
  • All federal and state cases including U.S. Supreme Court cases. Easily accessible through West's National Reporter System, an exclusive system of reporting federal and state cases that’s editorially enhanced for complete research.
  • State statutes and regulations. Includes statutes from all 50 states and D.C. and administrative codes from all 44 states.
  • Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). The full body of federal administrative regulations.
  • Federal Register. Includes 50,000 pages of current regulatory, administrative and executive materials generated by key federal entities.

World Book Advanced
