Our Information Desk on the First Level can assist you with research
questions immediately. However, if you feel you need more help with using
our resources, we offer alternatives.
Tours
Halle Library has many resources and services for students, and we offer
tours to familiarize our students with all we have to offer. Several
tours are scheduled early each semester, and are open to all EMU students,
faculty and staff. If you are unable to attend one of our scheduled
tours, we encourage you to set up an individual tour at a more convenient
time.
To arrange for a tour and introduction to the library, visit the Welcome
Center on the First Level or call 734.487.0020, x2119.
Individual Consultations
For in-depth assistance using the library and our resources, students
can schedule an individual consultation with a librarian. We will help
you learn to use our resources, such as WebVoyager (our library catalog)
and our Library Databases, both available at http://portal.emich.edu/, and
discuss other services that might interest you.
To schedule an individual consultation, stop by the Information Services
Desk or call 734.487.0020, x2100.
Course-Related Instruction (For Faculty)
We offer course-related instruction for all EMU classes. Course-related
instruction can be customized to meet your class' assignment. Examples
of the kinds of material we can cover include such topics as creating
a search strategy, finding books and articles on a particular topic,
using specific databases, and evaluating print and electronic sources.
To schedule a session, contact Suzanne Gray, our Information Literacy
Librarian, at 734.487.0020, x2130 or suzanne.gray@emich.edu.
Please schedule your class sessions well in advance to have a better
chance of getting the dates and times you would like. |
