Survey Questions
The survey has 25 core questions aimed at measuring
users’ opinions of library service quality
and identifying gaps in their expectations versus
their perceptions. Participants were asked
to rate the following statements on a scale of
1-9 (with 1 being the lowest and 9 the highest),
indicating for each:
- Minimum—the number that represents the minimum level
of service that you would find acceptable
- Desired—the number that represents the
level of service that you personally want
- Perceived—the number that represents
the level of service that you believe our
library currently provides

General Satisfaction Questions (respondents were
asked to rate their levels of satisfaction on a
scale from 1-9.

which I am treated at the library .
- In general, I am satisfied with library support
for my learning, research, and/or teaching needs.
- How would you rate the overall quality of
the service provided by the library?
Information Literacy Outcomes Questions (respondents
were asked to rate their levels of satisfaction
on a scale from 1-9 with 1 being “strongly
disagree” and 9 representing “strongly
agree.”
- The library helps me stay abreast of developments
in my field(s) of interest.
- The library aids my advancement in my academic
discipline.
- The library enables me to be more efficient
in my academic pursuits.
- The library helps me distinguish between trustworthy
and untrustworthy information.
- The library provides me with the information
skills I need in my work or study.
