Map and Atlas Reference Collection

This collection includes maps and atlases on all subjects and areas. It is a reference collection and is used in the Map Room only. Maps include those published by U.S. and foreign government agencies as well as commercial publishers. Atlases include national atlases of countries, state and provincial atlases, as well as specialized subject atlases.

Atlas Collection

The reference portion of the Atlas Collection has map dictionaries, gazetteers, books on maps and mapping, and a multi-volume index to maps in books and journals. These items must be used in Halle Library.

The rest of the collection is made up of different types of atlases, including world atlases, geographic atlases, political atlases, demographic atlases, economic and marketing atlases, historical atlases, nature atlases and celestial atlases. These atlases may be checked out at the Reception Desk on the First Level.

Travel and Tourism Collection

The Travel and Tourism Collection consists of road maps, travel brochures and visitor guides to sites in the United States and around the world. We also have maps to various college and university campuses in this collection. These materials may be checked out at the Reception Desk on the First Level.

Monday-Wednesday
--8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday-Friday
--8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Atlas Collection and Travel & Tourism Collection Hours*

Monday-Thursday
--7:30 a.m. to Midnight
Friday
--7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday
--8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday
--Noon to Midnight
*These collections are open the same hours as the Halle Library.
