Michigan Library Exchange

Link to MiLE

MiLE ( Michigan Library Exchange) is an Interlibrary Loan system that allows us to share books among libraries in most of Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.

  • If you cannot find a book you want at the Halle Library you may search the MiLE catalog and request the book directly from other libraries.
    • All types of materials are part of the catalog (videos, journals, etc.) but only books can be requested.
    • All students, staff and faculty may requests books through MiLE.
    • Courtesy card patrons may search the MiLE catalog but cannot request materials. Courtesy card patrons should use their local public library.
    • EMU has reciprocal agreements with some of the participating libraries and many are members of MichiCard so you might be able to go to another library and borrow other materials directly.
  • You may not borrow books already owned by the Halle Library.
  • Books are delivered to the Halle Library via a van service on Wednesday and Friday.
  • You will be notified via email when your book(s) arrive at the Halle Library. Be sure you enter your email correctly on the request form.
  • All books are checked out at the Reception Desk. All books must be returned to the Reception Desk within two weeks.
  • Sorry, there are no renewals.
