Instructions for Transferring
Citations |
- Databases:
- America: History & Life
- Historical Abstracts
Direct Export to Refworks
- Conduct a search and mark the records you want by clicking the
Tagged box
- Click on the Output Options button (left side
of screen)
- Under Entry format, select Short
Entry if you just want the citation
or Full Entry if you want the abstract to be
included with the citation information
- Under Output Type, keep the radio button selected
as ASCII Display
- In the Output Type area, select RefWorks
Export and click Submit
to initiate a direct export
- Click on the link to log into your RefWorks account
- Log into RefWorks and your records should automatically appear
in the Last Imported folder
Save as Text File and Import into RefWorks
In ABC-CLIO Indexes
- Select citations to save by clicking the Tagged box on each citation you wish to save
- Select Output Options (located on the left-side navigation bar)
- Under Entry format, select Full Entry
- Under Request Entry, select Tagged Entries
- Under Output Type keep the radio button selected as ASCII Display
- Click Submit
- From the File menu, select Save As. Save your file as a text file (with a .txt extension) to the location of your choice (e.g. desktop)
In RefWorks
- Login to your RefWorks database
- Select References/Import from
the toolbar.
- Select ABC-CLIO as the
Import Filter/Data Source and select the appropriate database.
- Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer.
- Click Import
- Your citation(s) will be imported into the Last Imported
Folder. You may now move them into the folder of your choice.
