RefWorks - Cochrane Library
Instructions for Transferring Citations

Save as Text File and Import into RefWorks 

In Cochrane Library

  1. Perform a search and mark the references you want to export
  2. Select 'Export Selected Citations' at the bottom of the screen
  3. On the Citation Export screen, select Export Type: Abstract and Citation and File Type: PC, Macintosh or Unix as appropriate
  4. Click Go
  5. Save your file as a text file (with a .txt extension) to the location of your choice (e.g. desktop)

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database
  2. Select References/Import from the toolbar
  3. Select The Cochrane library as the data source and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews as the database
  4. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer
  5. Click Import
  6. Your citation(s) will be imported into the Last Imported Folder. You may now move them into the folder of your choice.
