RefWorks - PubMed
Instructions for Transferring Citations

Save as Text File and Import into RefWorks 

In PubMed:

  1. Conduct a search and select citations to save by clicking the check box to the left of each citation
  2. Change the Display drop-down menu from Summary to MEDLINE
  3. Change the Send to drop-down menu to say text
  4. From your browser's File menu, select Save As. Save your file as a text file (with a .txt extension) to the location of your choice (e.g. desktop)

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database
  2. Select References/Import from the toolbar
  3. Select NLM PubMed as the Import Filter/Data Source and as the database
  4. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer
  5. Click Import
  6. Your citation(s) will be imported into the Last Imported Folder. You may now move them into the folder of your choice
