- Rooms in the Library can be reserved by EMU faculty and staff for academic purposes. Graduate Assistants may reserve rooms for teaching purposes. Due to heavy demands, top priority will always be given to teaching and course related usage.
Student groups are encouraged to reserve rooms in the Student Center or use the open collaborative study rooms in the library. If there is no room available at the Student Center while space is available in the library, we will reserve the room for student groups, one event at a time and no more than four days in advance of the requested date.
Library rooms can not be reserved by people unaffiliated with the University.
Outside groups are encouraged to contact the Student Center for room
reservations.
- Client Services reserves the right to change bookings
and will notify clients within a reasonable time.
- Clients may request a maximum of four reservations per
month.
- Equipment requests must be made at least one week prior to
the event. This will allow Client Services time to contact the client
and confirm that the equipment will be available.
- Clients who wish to use wall-mounted equipment and/or
computer labs must receive training from the proper technical staff.
Training may be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday.
- The reserved room will not be unlocked until the client
responsible for the booking signs in with Client Services.
- Arrangements for loading software on to Library computers
must be made in advance with the appropriate technical staff. Clients
must assume all licensing and acceptable use responsibilities.
- Student groups and organizations must have their faculty/staff
advisors reserve rooms for their meetings. The faculty/staff advisor
must sign in for access to the room and the faculty/staff advisor is
responsible for the condition of the room. Student groups and organizations
will be billed for damages and/or additional cleaning.
- The client must obtain written permission from the University
Library Administration and Client Services prior to arranging or requesting
catering services for events booked in the library. Once approval is
received, catering arrangements are to be made by the requestor through
the University’s catering services.
- The client responsible for reserving the room must take responsibility
for returning the room to its original condition. Tables and chairs must
be returned to their original position and trash must be placed in the
appropriate trash cans.
- Violation of above guidelines will result in loss of booking privileges.
No bookings will be accepted until the infraction has been reviewed by
Client Services and the University Library Administration.
