The Oral History Program at Yankee Air Museum needs your help!
Purpose: to preserve our history through the process of real life storytelling
Current Focus: WWII Veterans and people that worked at the Willow Run Bomber Plant during WWII.
Currently we have two volunteers in the department and we both work full time. We are looking for individuals to help us with ANY or ALL of the following:
- Conducting interviews
- Organizing our database
- Organizing the interviews and cataloging them
- Burning the interviews onto CD and cataloging them for the Museum as well as mailing them out to the person interviewed
- Burning the interviews onto DVD and cataloging them for the Museum as well as mailing them out to the person interviewed
- Following up with leads through phone and email and scheduling interviews
- Once trained on the procedures and equipment training other volunteers how to use it
- Transcribing interviews

- hearing first hand accounts of stories you read about or were lectured on (for example, I have spoken with gentlemen that was at Hickam Air Field when Pearl Harbor was attacked; I have spoken with women that worked in the Bomber Plant; and I have spoken with 2 sisters whose family crossed the border into West Germany from East Germany right before the wall went up)

- making connections with people in the field of History and Museums
