Undergraduate Scholarships

The Philosophy Section awards the following scholarships to deserving undergraduates:

  • The Esther Walker Barnard Philosophy Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.
  • The Friends of History and Philosophy Scholarship is awarded every other year to a philosophy student of high distinction.
  • The George Rhodes Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.
  • The Sophia Philosophy Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.
  • The Gregory Stevens Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the College of Arts & Sciences to outstanding students in philosophy, as well as to students in history, communications and theater arts, and political science. See the College of Arts & Sciences website to apply for this scholarship.
