Undergraduate Scholarships

The Philosophy Section awards the following scholarships to deserving undergraduates:

  • The Esther Walker Barnard Philosophy Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.
  • The Friends of History and Philosophy Scholarship is awarded every other year to a philosophy student of high distinction.
  • The George Rhodes Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.
    The Sophia Philosophy Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.

The Gregory Stevens Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the College of Arts and Sciences to outstanding students in philosophy, as well as to students in history, communications and theater arts, and political science. See the College of Arts and Sciences website to apply for this scholarship.
