Philosophy Scholarships

The Esther Walker Barnard Philosophy Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.

The Friends of History and Philosophy Scholarship is awarded every other year to a philosophy student of high distinction.

The George Rhodes Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.

The Sophia Philosophy Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.

The Gregory Stevens Memorial Scholarship is awarded through the Office of the Dean of Students to outstanding students in philosophy, as well as to students in history, communications and theater arts, and political science.

 

Philosophy students are also eligible for a variety of University-wide scholarships. Information on these and other sources of financial support is available through the Office of Financial Aid.

The Sophia Philosophy Endowed Scholarship and the George Rhodes Endowed Scholarship are housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.  These scholarships are intended to support philosophy students' completion of the undergraduate degree and award philosophy majors or minors with good academic standing.
