Miss Marissa Brooks is the daughter of Mr. Mark and Mary Brooks of Dayton,Ohio. Marissa is a Senior majoring in Exercise Science. She is the current Treasurer of The EMU Exercise Science Organization and Treasurer of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority where she is actively involved in serving the Bands. Marissa is a leader in her fourth year being a part of the Eastern Michigan University Marching Band playing clarinet. She devotes her time on Sundays attending New Life Church in Ypsilanti. Miss Marissa was also the 2016 Miss Gold in the Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant presented at EMU. Upon Graduation, Marissa plans to work in Cardiac Rehabilitation as an Exercise Physiologist at a hospital in her home town. In her future career, Marissa's goal is to continue to improve the prevention of Heart Disease in our country. Mr. Nicholaus Jeffrey is the son of Mary and Scott Jeffrey of Hartland, Michigan. He is a junior majoring in Secondary Education Integrated Sciences. Nicholaus is actively involved in the EMU Marching Band, Tau Beta Sigma, Intermural Sports, National Residence Hall Honorary, the Honors College, and EMU housing staff. He devotes his time to being a friendly person, a positive role model for EMU, and a Resident Advisor for Downing Hall. When he graduates, he wishes to teach physics in a local high school to better our next generation.
Ms. Emily Christensen is the daughter of Christopher and Kelly Christensen of Jackson, Michigan. She is a junior majoring in Therapeutic Recreation. Emily is actively involved in Greek Life as an Executive Board member of Sigma Nu Phi, as well as Campus Life as an NSOA. She spends most of her time either at one of her two jobs, or with her sisters and other members of the Greek Life community, hosting philanthropy and social events and attending conferences yearly. When she graduates, she hopes to get her Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs, adopt a dog, and find a man who can handle her attitude. In that order. Mr. Jake Lackey is a proud scholar here at Eastern Michigan University. He is majoring in Nursing with a minor in Psychology and is the first in his family to attend college. Jake is a member of His House EMU and the President of Theta Chi Fraternity here at EMU. This man enjoys spending time supporting multiple organizations on campus and their philanthropies by donating money for the cause or volunteering to help. Mr. Lackey is very family oriented and plans to study Anesthesia after graduating in order to support them.
Emmanuela "Emily" Jannaro is a proud member of the Gassam family out of Dearborn, Michigan. She is a senior majoring in Entertainment Design & Technology, and double-minoring in Electronic Media/Film Studies and Interdisciplinary Leadership. Emily is a proud sister of Alpha Sigma Tau, Alpha Chapter and is currently serving her second term as the College Panhellenic Council President. Emily is one of the Major Events Coordinators in the Admissions Welcome Center and loves her CTG family. Emily has also been involved with EMU First Four Orientation for three years, as an NSOA and a two-time OTEAMer alongside her running mate, Caitlin. Emily is passionate about student involvement and mentorship, and plans to pursue and plans to pursue a Masters in Higher Education/Student Affairs following her graduation in April 2018. She will be the first person in her family to have a Bachelor's degree. Caitlin Keif is a senior biology major from Southgate, Michigan. Caitlin is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, undergraduate research in an organic chemistry lab, The Honors College, and has been involved with First Four orientation as an NSOA and OTEAM. She is an avid Harry Potter fan, and spends a majority of her time with her involvement in her student organizations, serving Bloomin' Onions at Outback Steakhouse, and watching her favorite shows on Netflix. After graduating in April 2018, she plans to pursue a career in Healthcare Administration, and eventually return for a Masters degree.
Mr. Desmine Robinson is a third year student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Creative Writing. Who dreams of being a Counseling Psychologist with the Ph.D and also a best selling Author of self-help books. He is actively involved on campus through his double presidency roles in Active Minds and the student organization he founded this year- The Diversity and Inclusion Group. He has bee an English Tutor for Upward Bound for three years, and has been an NSOA for 2. Desmine is devoted to inclusion and diverse unity. He describes him self as an intersectional activist of love! And wants to inspire others to stand up for themselves and their fellow eagles and to always remember to take care of your heart, mind, body and soul in the process. Ms. Tyneisha Sharai Solomon is the Daughter of Willie and Taryn Solomon. Her hometown is Detroit, Michigan. She is a Senior majoring in Communication with a minor on Social Work. Tyneisha is an RA at Putnam Hall and an active member of the historically black organization Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. Her favorite part about being at EMU is performing with CloseUp Theatre Troupe. She wishes to get her masters in Higher Education Student Affairs.
Ms. Jocelyn Sharpe is an Ohio native from the city of Columbus. She is the daughter of Shad and Jennifer Marik. She is a Junior and is majoring in Communications with a minor in Apparel and Textile. She is an active student here at Eastern Michigan, as a sprinter on the Eastern Michigan Track and Field team and is involved in Athletes in Action as well. When she graduates she hopes to work in the field of business and fashion. Carl Spears is the son of Bridget Bibler and Carl Spears. He was born and raised in Fremont Ohio. He's majoring in criminology and psychology and plans on working in both fields after he graduates. Carl is very involved on campus as he is a 4th year senior on the Cheerleading Squad and is the President of the Love your Melon Crew. Carl's dedicating most of his free time these days to his team as they are gearing up to win NCA Cheerleading Nationals this spring.
