CTAC 124-Foundations of Speech Communication
"The Foundations of Speech Communication course helps students learn how to effectively deliver messages to public audiences, and to understand the theories behind the techniques they learn. My approach is to serve as each student's public speaking coach. I give students lots of practice and feedback in a safe environment so they can grow in confidence and ability. For honors students especially I will provide as many authentic speaking opportunities as possible, which means speaking in front of audiences other than just their own classmates. These audiences may include other classes or off‐campus audiences. In addition, students can expect to participate as audience members for other speakers and to use communication theories to evaluate the effectiveness of those speakers."
