Eastern Michigan University was awarded a suicide prevention and mental health promotion grant from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in October 2014. The grant’s goals are to help prevent suicide, eliminate stigma related to mental illness and promote help seeking behaviors in students. The grant is housed in the Student Well-Being Office in the Snow Health Center under the direction of Ellen Gold, Assistant Vice President of Student Well-Being and Lisa Lauterbach, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services.
