Welcome to the Housing Staff Selection Web Page. Each year we search for committed and qualified students to join our residence hall staff at Eastern Michigan University. This position is one of the most challenging and rewarding responsibilities you can assume as a student. We believe a qualified staff member needs to possess maturity, responsibility, organization, strong communication skills, leadership potential, as well as a commitment to human awareness.

Specific eligibility requirements are as follows:

• Application submitted by Friday, January 25th, 2008 Monday, January 28th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
• A minimum of two full semesters of college experience
• A minimum of 24 total credit hours
• 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher (3.0 GPA in Downing Hall)
• A minimum of two full semesters of residence hall living experience
• Be in good judicial standing with both Housing and the University
• Have less than $100 in past due balance with the University

In return you will have the opportunity to build relationships, enhance your time management skills, expand your awareness of our diverse community, and enrich your experience here at Eastern Michigan University. Through a student staff position you will receive a broad-based, skill-building experience.

The staff selection process is comprised of the following steps:

• A 30 minute first interview at the Village Commons (February 8, 2008 or February 11, 2008. Date is selected on the application).
• A 30 minute second interview at the Village Commons (February 15th, 2008 or February 18th, 2008. Date is selected on the application).
• A four hour training workshop with teambuilding activities (Availability is selected on application, however only those who successfully pass the interview phases will be admitted).
