EMU Health Care Plans
Eastern Michigan University offers its staff and faculty
members a choice of comprehensive health plan or the opportunity to
waive health care, as long as coverage is provided elsewhere.
The choice of plan varies by employee groups.
Eligibility is based upon the criteria established for each employee
group.
The non-grandfathered Plans offered to the following employees, have first dollar preventive care available to them.

· AH
· AP
· CC
· FA
· PT
· VF

All of the Eastern Michigan University’s group health
care plans provide coverage for breast reconstruction in connection
with a mastectomy, subject to the same deductibles and co-payment
provisions as other benefits under the plans. This specific coverage is
in compliance with the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of
1988.
Coverage includes:
Reconstruction of the breast on which the mastectomy
was performed
Surgery & reconstruction of the other breast for
symmetrical appearances
Prostheses & physical complications in all stages
of mastectomy, includes lymphedema therapy
