The Training and Organizational Development office provides ongoing professional and organizational learning opportunities to assist Eastern Michigan University departments in enhancing and sustaining individual, team and organizational performance
Core competencies are those competencies that are standardized and desired across all job levels at EMU. Role based competencies are additional essential competencies that may be tailored to one's specific divisional, departmental or individual job requirements/needs.
Eastern Michigan University has three (3) Competency Models that reflect 3 job roles as follows:
- Sr. Administrator/Executive (includes 9 Core Competencies)
- Supervisor/Mgr (9 Core)
- Individual Contributor-no direct reports (includes 5 Core Competencies)
These competency models were identified by key university constituents of all levels across a variety of departments as significant indicators for successful job performance across the University.
