Departmental New Hire Check List
This new hire check list pertains to departmental items, access to system resources and other unique departmental items. Item and Where to Request
Parking Hang Tag - Faculty and Staff - Fill out and sign a Faculty/Staff Hangtag Request form located at https://it.emich.edu/admin/index.cfm?error=unauthenticated&template=services3&target=/service/online/HangTags/index.cfm to request a parking hang tag. Fax or return completed form to the Parking Department (see form for additional details). The form can be turned into your supervisor or an Administrative Assistant for assistance in processing. For same day service, visit the Parking Department, located in the Bowen Field House. Visit the EMU‟s Department of Public Safety Parking web site for hang tag fees and additional information at: http://www.emich.edu/parking/hangtagspermits.php
Office Keys - Your supervisor or an Administrative Assistant will be able to assist you with acquiring office keys. A visit to the Physical Plant may be necessary.
Eagle Card - Go to the EMU EagleOneCard office located at 201 Pierce Hall to obtain an Eagle ID. The card is used for various business reasons as identification. (i.e. faculty, staff or student) If you are also a student of EMU your Student ID can be used as your Staff ID and activated as a debit card linked to your EagleOne Account. Use your Eagle ID in order to receive discounts on campus and within the Ypsilanti community. You can view Eagle OneCard Services information at: http://ict.emich.edu/eagleonecard/
Office Equipment (Desk, File Cabinets, Supplies) - Upon approval by your supervisor, equipment and/or supplies can be purchased by an Administrative Assistant, if items not maintained in department stock. Office supplies can be collected from department supply in large copy room.
Office Inbox - Mail - An Administrative Assistant will see that an inbox for mail services is provided. Mailboxes are located in the large copy room.
Phone and Phone Procedures/Manual - An Administrative Assistant can be contacted to acquire a phone, if one is not provided. An Online Phone Directory can be accessed on the EMU home page at: http://www.emich.edu/
Long Distance Access Code - An Administrative Assistant will provide a long distance phone code for dialing long distance business related phone calls.
P-Card and P-Card Policies - If applicable, your supervisor or an Administrative Assistant, will inform you of the process to acquire and/or use of a Purchasing Card. Also, visit the Purchasing web site for P-Card Information and Guidelines at: http://www.emich.edu/purchasing/policiesprocedures.php
Office Alarm System - Instructions for the office alarm system will be provided by an Administrative Assistant and an access code will be provided.
Business Cards - There is a 90 day probation period before ordering business cards for a new hire. Contact an Administrative Assistant to order cards.
