Welcome to Clinical Research Administration
As the development of new pharmaceuticals, devices and biotechnology products continues to expand, the number and complexity of the clinical trials necessary to gain regulatory approval continues to increase. In order to conduct this growing clinical research enterprise, there needs to be an expanded and better qualified workforce.
The mission of the Clinical Research Administration Program at Eastern Michigan University is twofold:
- to provide an academic experience which includes both didactic information and hands-on experiences in order to provide qualified new personnel to the clinical research enterprise, and
- to provide an opportunity for professionals participating in the drug/device development process to increase their knowledge base as well as their research/creative skills. This should provide a pathway for upward mobility in their professional careers within the clinical research and development industry.
To accomplish this mission, we offer both a post-baccalaureate certificate in Good Clinical Practices as well as a Master's Program in Clinical Research Administration. All program specific classes are held either on the main campus in Ypsilanti or at EMU’s Brighton campus. EMU is fortunate to be geographically located in close proximity to corporate sponsors, contract research organizations, and world-class clinical facilities which are actively conducting clinical trials. Our full-time and adjunct faculties are composed of individuals with real world experience in the industry and cutting-edge abilities. Our graduates are highly respected and our curricula have been a model for many other academic programs in this field.
EMU's Clinical Research Administration Program collaborates with Peking University's Clinical Research Institute's Department of Education and Training.
