Career Opportunities and Program Preparation for CPD
Graduates of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CPD) at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) are prepared to work as Registered Dietitians (RD) in the high-tech field of applying food and nutrition to health. It is a vital, growing area with numerous employment possibilities. Dietitians work in diverse jobs, such as health care, education, research, sales and marketing, public relations, government, and private practice.

High school students planning to major in Dietetics are advised to build a background in food, chemistry, mathematics, and biology.

Community college students should concentrate on prerequisite classes, such as chemistry (including organic), biology (including microbiology), foods, nutrition, statistics, and communication skills.

Human Nutrition (NUTR)

This program is designed for Registered Dietitians (RD), or other health professionals, and those with a strong interest in nutrition. It offers an advanced degree with a focus on nutrition for health promotion and chronic disease risk. It, like other programs at Eastern Michigan University (EMU), is fully accredited through the NCA Higher Learning Commission and we deliver this program online.
